It’s considered a true rarity for a TV series to remain epic after 22-years on the air. South Park somehow seems to only get better with age, like a fine wine. Matt Stone and Trey Parker continuously bring brilliant and relevant content to the table which manages to tackle serious issues in an incredibly unique way. South Park is as hilarious as it is thought-provoking which is a near-impossible task to master, yet Stone and Parker seem to achieve this with finesse....

The zombie movie genre has gone through a lot of changes over the last 80 years. The original zombie is something most of today’s movie fans would never recognize, based in the realm of voodoo rather than the dead walking again. However, after filmmakers like Val Lewton mastered the original zombie horror, George Romero created a new sort of zombie and changed everything. About a decade after Romero introduced the idea of the dead returning to life with a thirst for brains, other filmmakers moved quickly....

Whether they exist in nature or in our minds, monsters remind us of our place in the world. Some of these creatures distance themselves from civilization, whereas others lurk nearby. For years, films have given shape to our fear of the unnatural. Xenomorphs changed how we think of aliens. David Cronenberg’s The Fly showed how we make our own monsters. And dinosaurs were no longer a fantasy in Jurassic Park. But for every successful-looking monster, there are ones who undermine their own fearfulness....

Traditionally we digest stories linearly and in chronological order. What happens first we find out about first, the second thing comes second, and so on. As storytelling becomes more complex and nuanced, however, storytellers mess with traditional formulas and present more challenging structures: unreliable narrators, genre-hopping, and the one we’re checking in on here, time distortion. Sometimes a story is just that much more interesting if we’re given a glimpse into the future of our tale....

Both Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden produced a large stable of shinobis with an array of jutsus and hidden talents. The Austin Powers franchise is like no other. It can’t even be compared to any other spoof movies and most cinematic parodies out there.
